Virginia Mastrogiannaki

Since 2014, Virginia Mastrogiannaki has been regularly presenting live performances where she works on selected texts based on the axes of social stereotypes, political and institutional contexts, and the uniqueness of the mother tongue, often within the involvement of vocal and body practices. She deals with the concepts of duration, limit, error, and the unnecessary, both in relation to herself and materials but also in terms of social relationships. She has been systematically exploring the vocal area and the field of phonation. An essential aspect of her work is the perception and understanding of the time continuum, therefore engaging in long durational performances.
