The Hollow Men
The Hollow Men is a live performance and moving-image work exploring necropolitics, institutional violence, surveillance, and disappearance. Drawing from T. S. Eliot’s The Hollow Men, the work examines how violence is documented, classified, and transformed into evidence. Ten masked figures occupy a space staged as a forensic crime scene, performing repetitive investigative procedures using evidence markers, forensic tools, photographs, uniforms, and flashes. The absence of a body becomes the central presence, questioning whose disappearance is acknowledged and whose remains invisible. Through performance, constructed imagery, moving image, sound, and audience participation, the work reflects on how institutional systems can transform violence into procedures, records, and images. The Hollow Men was Farrera’s first live performance and moving-image work, presented at Brixton House in July 2026.
