WHY

Performance art, in circulation.

PAV is an artist-run, nonprofit project dedicated to performance art on video.

We bring artists, curators and audiences together around works that engage with the social, political and ecological realities of our time.

Rooted in solidarity and inclusion, PAV creates ways for performance art to travel across geographical, economic and institutional boundaries, while generating support for the artists whose work makes the platform possible.

SUPPORT

Supporting what comes next.

Artists, their work, research and time are the reason PAV exists.

The Hollow Men

The Hollow Men is a live performance and moving-image work exploring necropolitics, institutional violence, surveillance, and disappearance.
Polo Farrera (Leopoldo Alejandro Farrera Cuevas)

The Stillness We Carry

The Stillness We Carry is a performance-based film by Aparna that explores the tension between societal expectation and personal autonomy. Drawing from lived experience, the work confronts the inherited burdens of tradition, culture, and gender, asking: What does it mean to bear a legacy you did not choose?

Mission

PAV exists to:
present and disseminate performance art responding to contemporary realities;support artists through commissions and opportunities for artistic development; broaden access to performance beyond established cultural centres; connect artists, curators, organisations and audiences;reinvest platform income directly into creating new work.
Art circulates. Audiences encounter it. Support returns to artists. New work becomes possible.

Vision

Every periphery can become a centre. PAV works towards a cultural ecology in which artistic practices can circulate without losing their complexity. We are interested in what happens when access is decentralised: when a work made in one place can enter into relation with someone living elsewhere; when audiences become active participants in sustaining artistic practice; when cultural value is not determined exclusively by proximity to established institutions.Rather than imagining change as a distant ideal, we work through protopian actions: situated gestures that improve the conditions in which artists create, and audiences encounter their work.

An audience can also sustain what it encounters. Joining PAV means more than following a platform.
It means entering a cultural ecology in which attention can become participation.
You encounter an artwork. You give it time. You might share it. You might support it.
That support helps another artist make another work.
‍

This is the community PAV seeks to cultivate: not an audience defined by consumption, but people connected through attention, reciprocity and responsibility.
